Location

Hotel Roma is located in a truly ideal place that is easy to reach by any form of travelling.  It lies in Piazza Picco, in the historical town centre of Cividale del Friuli; it is connected to the north and south highway junctions and is only 150 metres away from the railway station.  Thanks to its position within the surrounding Venetian walls of the town, Hotel Roma is ideal to access the historical town of the ancient Forum Julii: our guests can forget about having to travel by car to visit the town centre and can enjoy a pleasant walk instead.

Cividale del Friuli is 16 km away from Udine, 60 km from Triest, 119 km from Venice, approximately 130 km from Lubljana and 140 km from the Austrian border (Tarvisio/Arnoldstein). The closest international airport is only 30 km away at Ronchi dei Legionari (TRS)

By car

From Italy
Cividale can be reached from the A4 Venezia-Trieste highway.  Exit at junction “Udine Sud”, take trunk road no. 54 and follow the signs to Cividale (km 18).

From Venezia Giulia
Along the A4 highway towards Venice, exit at junction “Palmanova”, then follow the signs to San Giovanni al Natisone and from here to Cividale (approx. 20 km from Palmanova)

From Slovenia
From the international pass of Gorizia / Nova-Gorica, follow the signs to Cormons, then to Cividale (approx. 32 km).  Otherwise, from the international pass of Venco/Neblo, proceed towards Prepotto and then to Cividale (approx. 14 km from the border)

From Austria/ Germany
Along the A23 highway towards Udine, exit at junction “Udine nord”, then follow the signs to Cividale (approx. 21 km from junction “Udine nord”).

By train
Cividale can be reached from Udine along a comfortable line that is very frequent (see timetable).

By coach
To reach Cividale from Udine there are frequent coach lines during weekdays, whereas at weekends they are less frequent.

By plane
The nearest international airport is Ronchi dei Legionari (TRS), which is approximately 30 km from Cividale and which has direct flights to Munich, Vienna, London, Lugano, Milan, Rome, Tirana, Timisoara, Venice, Genoa, Naples and Belgrade.
